What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature that lets a site remember small pieces of information on your device. We call both "cookies" on this page.
The categories we use
- Strictly necessary (always on): needed for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice.
- Analytics (off by default): would help us understand how visitors use the site.
- Marketing and advertising (off by default): would help us measure our ads on platforms like Google and Meta.
What this site sets today
This is every cookie and local-storage item the EGXSCALES website currently sets:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration | Category |
|---|---|---|---|---|
egx_cookie_consent (local storage) | EGXSCALES | Remembers your cookie choices, the policy version and when you made them, plus a random ID used to match our proof-of-consent record. | 12 months, then we ask again (or sooner if this policy changes) | Strictly necessary |
We don't currently run any analytics or marketing tools. If we add tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads or the Meta Pixel, they will only run if you opt in, and we'll add them to this table before we use them.
When you make a choice, we also keep a record of it (a random ID, your choices, the policy version and the time) in our database as proof of consent. It contains no name or email.
Changing your choices
You can change or withdraw your choices anytime. Changes take effect right away.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage means the site can't remember your choice and will ask again.
